• What a donkey!

There are many human characteristics associated with donkeys and it’s mostly not good to be compared to one, unless it’s been proceeded by the words “hung like a”, which is a phrase I’ve never personally heard. Stubborn, stupid, clumsy, not particularly pretty, are all things that people associate with this…

  • Stinging in the rain.

Only the second night into my road trip and l’m feeling a bit regretful. It’s been a couple of hard days to get to the tip of the UK, l don’t want to bang on about my hips, but the osteoarthritis in them not only gives me a lot of…

  • Oh flower of Scotland

Very apt that May is mental health month, because I’m struggling a bit at the minute. Not sure if it’s because I’m sixty on Wednesday or despite swimming three times a week, drinking far less and not eating much crap, I still can’t shift the weight as much as I’d…

  • Margot

Bit of a change from my usual blog, I’m writing this a few hours before taking on my challenge to walk up the 199 steps at Whitby, doesn’t sound like too hard a task, but as I have severe osteoarthritis in both hips, trust me when I say, it’s not…

  • Sign of the times

My last blog addressed urinating in the pool and the fact that some people defiantly release and are proud to admit it and whilst this is probably top of the list when it comes to things you shouldn’t do in a swimming pool, there are clearly many others. Etiquette and…

  • When you gotta go !

If you read my last blog, you’ll know I’m in the middle of a swimming challenge, to paddle the equivalent of the English channel in seven weeks, currently it’s going okay, but the biggest problem is still the boredom. It takes me 90 minutes to do the 36 lengths and…

  • So far my new healthy regime is doing well, many days without drink, eating good thing’s, losing weight and managing to get plenty of time at the pool and that doesn’t mean sat on a sun lounger watching arses in thong’s. Swimming was something that helped me lots before I…

  • Look out below!

Since I announced that I was going to walk up the 199 steps at Whitby for charity, there have been a few people expressing how shit a challenge that is, the thought being that a man with no legs could do it in about an hour by shuffling up on…

  • Ey i’ll do it !

Finally after months away, I’m back. You may wonder what’s been happening? Well not got time for that, I’ll have to leave those stories for another blog, though it looks like I’m finally going to get my hip operations this year, despite being a big fatty. The NHS in their…

  • A new beginning

Yes, you’ve heard it before and I’ve definitely said it before, but this time, I really mean it. “Yeah, I’ll start behaving tomorrow”, don’t know about you, but this is something I’ve proclaimed many times, at least five in the last seven days and at some point, if we really…

Hi, I’m Keith.

Welcome to my blog. I’m on a mission to lose weight in order to have a much needed operation, that will hopefully help me regain the gift of mobility. As the title suggests, I also plan to become a fittie, though that might require some plastic surgery. Like the whole population of the world, things have been a bit shit since 2020 and eating all those sausage rolls during lockdown didn’t help. If you want the full story, then read the about page, but if I were you, I’d just crack on with my hopefully humorous anecdotes about life as a fat disabled guy.
